Re: [FW-1] Replacing management station



Hi Yim,

I agree that it is stupid to change a number of things at the same time. The
problem is that SP2 is only supported on RedHat 6.2 and I decided to go for
RedHat 7.0 as SP5 supports that version.

So to follow your recommendation I should hope for the best, that SP2 runs
okay on RedHat 7.0. Otherwise I have to go for at least SP3...

We rotate logs weekly to keep logs at a sane size. And I would like to look
into older log-events than just from the point of the switch over.


Back to my oroginal question; What method is the best/recommended when
replacing hardware as we plan to do? Is it to install the FW software and
then copy relevant information from the old server? Or how should we do it?

If I am doing it, I will move to the new box with SP2.
 Wait a week or two, then I will upgrade to SP5.  The
more you change, the more difficult it is to
troubleshoot if you had a problem.

Why do you want to move the log?  Do you really need
the old logs?
