you mean rename the HKEY file to .old?

I tried this in test out of curiosity but it didn't work. when I run
cpconfig it just says "you need to use cpconfig" or something similarly
dumb.

Does anyone know how to reset an NG install? In 4.1 you used to rename
product.conf to inst.conf and then run cpconfig. I can't find information on
this for NG.
