The customer does not have a backup but he has another firewall box. I will recommend him to verify all configuration files on that box to the firewall with the one having Voyager access problems. There is another option I received from other person that seems to be right. Reset the Nokia to factory default configuration. It might be easier to just restore that config rather than messing with password files and such. Never tried it, though... ;) The reason for this is that the web server cannot run! So independently of which user you have to log in as (admin, or whatever), if the web server cannot run, you're out of Voyager. (Remember that authentication is just a feature of the web server, nothing else.) I would look more into the possibility of putting the user back in... editing passwd and/or shadow files, maybe copying the line from another Nokia box (copying shell/no-shell, passwd/no-passwd, etc. properties). Not a good thing to mess with, but I would definately give it a try... I'd also look into the /config/db/whatever file, and see if there's anything in there that might rebuild passwd/shadow files at boot. Just my opinions, nothing more. Regards and good luck with that, James >From: Don <[email protected]> >Reply-To: Mailing list for discussion of Firewall-1 ><[email protected]> >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: [FW-1] Voyager access >Date: Fri, 12 Apr 2002 02:44:47 -0400 > > > Using the console port >Even if he logs into the box using the console, he still can not log into >voyager if he deleted the only voyager account. > >I had assumed he meant he deleted the admin account when he said www >account.
