Re: [FW-1] Voyager access

I agree with Don here... if you delete the www user, which is the user
Apache runs *as*, I would *think* you would not be able to access html pages
at all (be it through a browser on a remote machine or through lynx - which
is just another browser - via a serial console). Never tried it, though...
;)

The reason for this is that the web server cannot run! So independently of
which user you have to log in as (admin, or whatever), if the web server
cannot run, you're out of Voyager. (Remember that authentication is just a
feature of the web server, nothing else.)

I would look more into the possibility of putting the user back in...
editing passwd and/or shadow files, maybe copying the line from another
Nokia box (copying shell/no-shell, passwd/no-passwd, etc. properties). Not a
good thing to mess with, but I would definately give it a try...

I'd also look into the /config/db/whatever file, and see if there's anything
in there that might rebuild passwd/shadow files at boot.

Just my opinions, nothing more.

Regards and good luck with that,

James

Even if he logs into the box using the console, he still can not log into
voyager if he deleted the only voyager account.

I had assumed he meant he deleted the admin account when he said www
account. I appologize if I made an incorrect assumption here.
