There are two configuration parameters that need to be set in order for NG to handle large mail messages.

 

The first is in the resource you define; in the resource object under the "Action 2" tab you we need to define the "Do not send mail larger than" parameter.

 

The second is a more global definition for the Firewall itself and needs to be defined for each module that will be utilizing the SMTP Security Server feature. This configuration can be found in the properties of the Firewall object, under the "Advanced" and then "SMTP". Define the "Don't accept mail larger than" option to your liking (this option will effect the max_mail_size in the smtp.conf file).

hi frederic,

we have the same problem (smtp.conf unchanged on fw-module) on a distributed system (management and module on different machines).

on a single system test-installation everything is fine.

where is your fw-management? on the same system as the fw-module or on a seperate system?

Platform : Nokia IP 530 with IPSO 3.4.2 with VRRP Patch
Software : Checkpoint NG FP1

Problem : The limit size of the SMTP ressource doesn't seem to work.

Limiting the size of the SMTP ressource in the ressource itself or/and in
the workstation properties doesn't have effect. In fact the line
max_mail_size in the file $FWDIR/conf/smtp.conf is never changed ...

There's nothing similar in the Knowledge Base of Nokia or CheckPoint ....

Is it a bug ?
