Re: [FW-1] CheckPoint errors in Windows NT Event viewer

Try editing the file C:\WINNT\FW1\4.1\conf\fwauthd.conf and comment (#) the
two lines that address netsod and polsrvd:
# 0 polsrvd respawn 0
# 19190 netsod wait 19190

Stop/start the firewall and see how you go. Do let us know.

When did these errors first appear? Are you running an EVAL license?
Your license might also be corrupted or you may have a license that has
expired.

Jim

Subject: [FW-1] CheckPoint errors in Windows NT Event viewer

We are running Checkpoint FW 4-1, SP 5 on a Windows NT 4 platform, SP 6a.
Checkpoint is posting numerous errors in the Windows NT Event Viewer such as
"cannot locate my network object" , "cannot run server polsrvd:
Authentication services are unavailable. connection refused" and "VPN-1
accelerator card not available." Other than the MS knowledgebase, does
anyone know where I can get a more detailed explanation as to what these,
and other Event Viewer errors are referring to? Thanks.

Dan
