Substitute 89 for 47.

Subject: [FW-1] FW-1 and OSPF

I am considering placing the internal interface of a VPN Concentrator onto
a DMZ interface of the FW-1, so that VPN users must traverse the firewall
to reach the internal network.

The VPN Concentrator (Cisco VPN 3000) can be configured to run OSPF on the
internal interface, so the VPN Concentrator can use "Reverse Route
Injection" to inject users' internal IP addresses (which may be static for
some users, e.g. for network management/security purposes) into OSPF, and
thus make them reachable by the rest of the internal network.

Is it possible to pass OSPF routing information between FW-1 interfaces
(e.g. a DMZ and the internal network), given that OSPF uses multicast
packets? Note, this doesn't involve running OSPF on the firewall, but
requires the passing of OSPF routing information between two FW-1
interfaces.

Cheers,

Matt
