Rick,

I've been using SR on XP for a while now (without using encrypted DNS)
with few problems.  I've had a similar issue, but it was related to my
network card failing to re-enable after coming out of standby.  I've
also found that running a constant ping against a server in the
encryption domain seems to prevent slowness or timeout issues
(particularly with MS Outlook).  Hope this helps.
