md5 = good :) I _suspect_ that doing a dd as you described below would work as that is all the /etc/upgrade_bootmgr script does (with LOADS of error/consistency checking though). Keep in mind though, if you crack the case on your 330 you void the warranty. Nokia suggest that you RMA the box (if under a support contract) when the boot manager gets corrupted. When upgrading the boot manager on the Nokia IP330 I used a corrupt nkipflash.bin. Believe me that's the last time I don't MD5 the file. Anyway, my firewall will now not boot (unsurprisingly) and I'm not sure of the best way forward. I have an idea to remove the hard drive, somehow mount it to a clean FreeBSD installation and do a manual dd if=nkipflash.bin of=/dev/rwd0 seek=63. Does anyone know if this will work, or if there are any other ways of mending a remaking a corrupt boot manager?
