CP-SIC is NG specific. 4.1 also used internal CP communications for the
get interfaces rather than SNMP. I believe 4.0 did as well. 3.0b was the
last CP release to use SNMP for the get interfaces query to an internal
module.

For an external module? CheckPoint would SNMP query the object. What SNMP
daemons responds just depends on what one is listening. It could be the
CheckPoint daemon or an OS daemon

If you can communicate with the module for management, then SIC is
working.
