Re: [FW-1] Why would 'get interfaces' timeout?

Title: RE: [FW-1] Why would 'get interfaces' timeout?

The "get interfaces" feature is performed via an snmp 'get'.  If the firewall snmp daemon is not running on the target device, or if fw1-snmp is not allowed to the target from your management server, this will fail.

Subject: [FW-1] Why would 'get interfaces' timeout?

I have just installed an NG FP1 management server on Solaris-8.
When I am trying to define it in its own GUI the 'get interfaces' function
returns an error 'timeout, giving up'.
I can't figure this out as I 'thought' it was talking to itself, can anyone
tell me why this would happen.
Thanks
Paul
