[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [FW-1] Preparing for an IPSO kernel patch
I have to install the kmalloc-fix for IPSO 3.2.1. This patch ZAP's the kernel. I've never done this before so I'm a bit anxious about making sure I've got a good backup. I do make regular backups using the voyager interface and "configuration backup and restore". Can I do anything else to make recovery faster/simple if the kernel patch goes wrong? Something along the lines of "Make me a copy of the current IPSO config so I can activate it later on" kind of thing? The patch file does make a copy of the kernel file but it must be activated at boot time using the boot manager. I'm hoping for something a bit easier. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Greg Winkler Systems Manager, IT&S Huntsman Corporation Internet Mail: [email protected] Voice:Fax:================================================= To set vacation, Out Of Office, or away messages, send an email to [email protected] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [email protected] =================================================
