[FW-1] Preparing for an IPSO kernel patch

I have to install the kmalloc-fix for IPSO 3.2.1. This patch ZAP's the
kernel. I've never done this before so I'm a bit anxious about making sure
I've got a good backup.

I do make regular backups using the voyager interface and "configuration
backup and restore". Can I do anything else to make recovery faster/simple
if the kernel patch goes wrong? Something along the lines of "Make me a
copy of the current IPSO config so I can activate it later on" kind of
thing? The patch file does make a copy of the kernel file but it must be
activated at boot time using the boot manager. I'm hoping for something a
bit easier.
