- unless you have a specific need that absolutely cannot be met with static
routes, do not run routing protocols on your firewall. If you must, GateD
(www.gated.org) is probably the most common
application for routing via RIP, BGP, OSPF, IS/IS, etc. on Solaris. Please
note the the ".org" is purely historical; they no longer provide ANYTHING for
free. You can, however, find older versions on the internet (e.g. www.sunfreeware.com has a build for
Solaris 7 32-bit).
