Re: [FW-1] FIREWALL scan IP

Title: Message
One idea would be to look at that firewall and see that the interface network is (the one the remote computer is plugged into).  Then just do a ping across that entire network until you get a response back.  Since it's a X-over cable, that should be your computer responding.

You will of course have to make a rulebase change to allow ICMP echo-response to the firewall from that network you are scanning, as well as ICMP echo-request from the firewall to that network.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Subject: [FW-1] FIREWALL scan IP

Dear all,

I Have a Checkpoint FW1 4.1 on IPSO 3.3 installed in two different sites. VPN is configured between these two sites.

I have a computer, that I don't know the IP, plugged straight to the distant Firewall with a cross-over cable.

The interface used for this specific computer is UP.

In the distant Site there is no one to check the IP of the computer.

Does anyone knows how to retrieve a computer IP address plugged to a Firewall cp 4.1

Best Regards,

Slim
