Hello! The gui based management utility and the policy editor are the same thing - since you're on rh, you will not be able to have a gui client on the linux box, you'll need any windows client, where you'll install the policy editor. Under cpconfig on your management/enforcment, make sure to include the IP address of the host that will connect to the firewall via the policy editor, under the option gui clients. Only Solaris has a Motif client for unix based systems. One additional layer of security you can add, is to use SecurCRT or a derivative, and do port forwarding to the FW on port 258. In that case, be sure to include the loopback address in the cpconfig > gui clients option. ================================== Sherif Michel Nehma Security Consultant / Conseiller en Sécurité Corporate Firewall Administrator CGI Group INC ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ullampuzha Mana, Divakaran (GEAE, GTS India)" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, February 22, 2002 9:18 AM Subject: [FW-1] Basic questions regarding Fw-1 > Hi, > I am new to FW-1.
