Hi Pat, for getting Updates, Upgrades and Patches from Check Point, you will need at least a Software Subscription. If you don't have one or ran out of it, you can register backwards for 9 months (afaik). After this, a "legacy update" is necessary. This doesn't mean, you have to change to NG - but you can, if you want to. So I think, you will need this legacy update for getting patches. The license itself and the subscription are separate things, but which reseller will sell the FW without maintenance or not give you at least a hint, that this has to be ordered extra?
