Does any SMTP connection attempt ever reach your firewall?
(You should see them in your log!)

If not, then Paul Chinnery is proably right in his guess:
you don't have a correct MX-record.

But you do have add it to the anti-spoofing setup on
your internal interface. (If you use anti-spoofing, that is.)
