Another consideration is the additional costs/restrictions on the configuration. We recently evaluated the Foundry, Alteon, and Cisco solution. The Cisco solution REQUIRES additional L2 switches/VLANS to connect everything up properly ( 4 more boxes in the fully redundant solution with 2 firewalls ). The Foundry solution required no additional L2 switching between the boxes to make it work. We also noted that the Alteons had some (IMHO) rather strange restrictions on the addresses you could NAT to while the Foundries' FWLB hashing algorithm denied us the possibility of simultaneously NATing the source and destination on the FW (everybody does that these days, don't they :). Also, the Cisco solution doesn't support NAT on the firewall according to the documentation. The sales force/SE informed us otherwise, but we had to use some special configuration to make it work. After all was said and done, we ended up with the Cisco solution for Layer 8 reasons..
