Your user database is corrupt. This happens entirely too often. Simply
erase all of the fwauth.* files and restart CheckPoint.

You will lose all previously defined users, however I believe this is the
only way to fix the problem.

Your best bet is to define your users externally in a RADIUS server (or
ACE or TACACS, etc.) and simply create a *generic user entry which
forwards all requests to the authentication server.
