[FW-1] Problem: cannot use PPPoE with NG FP1 and Linux

I have the following gateway:

NG FP1
RedHat Linux 7.1
Kernel 2.4.9-7 (updated from 2.4.2-2)
eth0 (internal network)
eth1 (external network, no dhcp)
ppp0 (pppoe over eth1)
ipfilter default accept
no other netfilter/ipchains/ipfilter rules

when I use tcpdump on the eth1 interface, I saw some PPPoE communication.
But I can't ping any other hosts (internet, same after "fw unload
localhost"). I see the packets on ppp0 only.

when I stop NG with "cpstart" and set IP_Forwarding=1, I can see more PPPoE
traffic on my eth1 interface and a ping from my "NG"-gateway is successfull.

fw ctl iflist shows: eth0, eth1 and ppp0

fw stat -i -l shows: >ppp0 and <eth0, >eth0. It's counting packets on
ppp0 (incoming), but all dropped...

only one rule: any any any accept

any ideas?

greetings,
andre
