Look to see if QoS is installed on the Dialup networking adaptor. If it is, uninstall it. All of them have worked without any problems. I am using IKE. Also I have removed the fwz service from auto starting from the registry. This trick has solved many problems. All of my users launch secure remote manually. It would work on some and not on others. The problem is that the authentication window would not pop up at all while dialed up to an ISP they would work over a cable modem and Ethernet connection. The way I worked around it was to run SYSPREP.EXE and on the reboot it seemed to rebind TCP/IP and SecuRemote. After that it works. I tried to uninstall and reinstall with no luck. Just thought I would share my workaround. -----Original Message----- From: Colmer, Philip [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, December 10, 2001 4:58 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [FW-1] Securemote on Windows XP > I have installed Securemote on a Windows XP machine and it does not > work. Partial luck, and it sounds as if you are having the same problem as me. If I install build 4199, it works through any Ethernet adapter that I might use to connect to the Internet, but I cannot get it to work through the dialup adapter. I've tried rebinding but no success. It looks to me as if build 4199 was a bit rushed ... if you look at the event log, it still logs an error saying: FW1: FW1: Running on Build 2600 is not supported! FW1: FW1: Build 2195 is required! XP is Build 2600 ... I think build 2195 is Windows 2000. --Philip -- Philip Colmer MBCS CEng Tel: 01223 271223 I.T.
