What version of FW-1 is this?
Versions prior to 4.0 SP1 had all sorts of problems.
If this is a version you are running you need to:
fw logswitch
fwstop
rm $FWDIR/log/fw.log
rm $FWDIR/log/fw.alog
rm $FWDIR/log/fw.vlog
rm $FWDIR/log/fw.logtrack
fwstart
(Essential CheckPoint Firewall-1; Section 4.11)
If you are running a newer version then this may still be the problem
and
it would not hurt to try it.
