The trick is to drop FW-1 4.1 sp2 on your 2000 box right from the get go. Then roll it up to sp5. If you start with sp0 or sp1, you will have trouble. Also, know that you need to add an entry to your registry to allow routing between NICs. It is explained during setup, but it is real easy to blow past it and not even notice. HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\IPEnableRouter should be set to 1.
