default message port for AOL is TCP 5190, but you must block more than
that. Do nslookup for login.oscar.aol.com and block those IP's. You
can setup a rule before this AOL drop rule to allow only certain IP's to
talk to AOL servers (or just exclude them in the same drop rule). As
far as allowing AOL internal and not external, i dont see how that would
be possible since you need to log into AOL servers to use IM and i'm not
sure you can block buddy lists. But i'm not an authority on AOL.

Hope this helps,

Aeon

I would be interested on how to block AOL Instant messenger, and if
there is
a way to punch a hole to allow only certain users by IP address
(external
use). Also is there a way to allow internal use ONLY.

any
one know how to block instant messenger?

Thank you,

Fidel
