Hi, >From the top of my head I am almost sure that hardware platform doesn't support 1Gb connections, but still it really depends on the use of the firewall since different uses like NAY and VPN lowers the machine performance. Since a 1Gb connection is in question I would have recommended the Nokia IP740 or the new Alteon platform.
