For one thing, go to managed installed packages and enable the
documentation package. This will provide you with an online help system
through the web interface that will explain what all fo the options do.

As far as IPSO and CheckPoint are concered:
For IPSO:
IPSO is a hacked version of FreeBSD. If you know or learn FreeBSD you are
pretty well off when dealing with IPSO problems.

For CheckPoint you might want to take a training class.

For more esoteric problems, read the mailing lists.
