Re: [FW-1] cannot start fw-1: fwstart does not work



If you already installed Firewall-1, you have to:

1. stop de fw service with fwstop.
2. run cpconfig and add the new license.
3. start the service again with fwstart.

Then you gotta be able to use Policy Editor in order to create your rules.

i installed a eval fw-1 v4.1.
i have entered the license string and features and rebooted it with
necessary config in voyager.

on fwstart i get , module failed to load and in cpconfig i get the following
msg.

"Could not put license in running module: Device not configured
Failed to put kernel license!"

any ideas?

I"m trying to load NG FR1 on 2k and i'm getting "unable to rename
fw_w2k.sys" during the install.  Before that, I received an error
"cannot load Fw kernel".  Any ideas?  I have sucessfully installed NG on
2k before this, but this server is giving me grief.

I think they are Crazy.  I have Implement NG FR1 and it works great. I
have
put it on a W2k machine with no problems.  NG without FR1 is very buggy
and
unstable, but I feel that NG FR1 is stable.
