Subject: [FW-1] Checkpoint FW1 v4.1 and Windows 2000 Advanced Server

Checkpoint FW1 v4.1 in a Windows 2000 Advanced Server environment.  Environment is set up as follows:

FW1 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server with 2 NIC's.  One Nic is external and one is internal.  FW1, Management Module, and Policy Editor are installed/running on the same machine.

I am having the following issues:

1) When attempting to install the policy on the server I receive the following error message:

Installing Security Policy Publisher_Network1 on all.all@[hostname]
Unable to open '\Device\FW1': The system cannot find the file specified.
Failed to get interface list: The system cannot find the file specified.
Has only loopback (lo) interface, aborting...
Failed to Load Security Policy: The system cannot find the file specified.
Installing Security Policy on localhost[hostname]failed

I have found a similar issue in your faq but it did not correct this issue.

2) When attempting to "get" interface information from the interface properties tab of the policy editor I receive the following error:

Failed to get interfaces from [ip address]

This occurs when trying to get interface information of my firewall only (local box).  I am able to get interface information for all other objects in my environment.  (Keep in mind the that all modules are installed on the same server.)
