Some ftp servers want to know who you are coming in (name resolution). If they can't do a reverse lookup on your ip address they may send an ident request. When this fails, they drop the connection. This is what I suspect is happening to your connection. Kevin Martin [email protected] Stafford Trading Inc. Chief Security Officer Chicago, IL 60604 TEL230 S. I am having issues with 4.1 SP5 with FTP outbound. Most FTP servers do not give me an issue, but one specific one does. On the perimeter net I have no problem, but when going through the FW I get the logon/pass, then after I successfully login, I get a connection closed by remote host. Anybody else experience this also? The only logged event I see is a dropped ident packet, other than that I see nothing else getting dropped. Thanks in advance for any help!
