Re: [FW-1] FW-1 Logs

Hi Juan,
Thank you for the reply.
I stand to be corretced, but........................unfortunately I do not
think that this helps me ; as I understand it, the "loggers" file (or even
additional entries in "masters") only works to a CheckPoint enabled system
(either an alternative, full-blown, management station ; or a cut-down
version - CLM). Either way this is listening on the FW-1 ports, and not the
"syslog" port (udp 514). We have other (non-CheckPoint) devices logging to
the central syslogger so the transfer has to be plain text and has to be on
port 514.
This is why I set up the shell script on the Nokia platform to use the "FW
LOG" command to create a text stream of the logs and send them to out
syslog daemon with the Unix "logger" program.
I am pretty sure that I now need an independent syslog client on my
distributed Management Station (WinNT) to emulate the same thing.
If you know better (or know of such a client) please get back to me.
Cheers, Gordon
  .

If I'm not mistake you should create a 'loggers' file and populate it
with the ip of the machine that will be doing the logging for your
firewalls. It might also require you to do putkeys between the Nokia's
and the actual logger.
