These
two sites in particular use a reverse-DNS lookup to confirm you are in the
US. I would venture to say that this isn't a problem with your firewall,
but like most places these days, your ISP does not have reverse DNS zones
configured.
A good
way to test this is to try from the external subnet OUTSIDE the firewall, and if
you still have no luck, try doing a DNS query on the PTR record for your IP.
(e.g. for IP address aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd, search for
ddd.ccc.bbb.aaa.in-addr.arpa)
Good
luck!

Hello
list:
I am
unable to FTP from HP and IBM. I
am able to connect but never receive the login prompt to ftp.hp.com or ftp.pc.ibm.com. Well, I don't time out I just never
get the login prompt.
This
has become to be a real pain in the rear. I am using Checkpoint FW-1 4.1 SP5 on
a Windows 2000 SP2 Firewall and Management
PC.
Any help is greatly
appreciated.
