Re: [FW-1] Multiple Internet Connections

Title: Multiple Internet Connections

If the Firewall (NT Server) is performing routing couldn’t you just add the IP address with a higher Metric and let the Firewall perform the failover?

Subject: [FW-1] Multiple Internet Connections

I am currently running a NT FW-1 4.1 SP3 firewall.
We are in the process of obtaining a secondary internet pop for redundancy from a separate vendor @ one of my remote locations.

Is there a way that I could pre-setup the firewall for this second internet pop, so when our primary goes down, a quick change on the firewall and we would be back up.

The license of the firewall is tied to the internal ip address not the external.
So all I am thinking is another object that represents the firewall with all interfaces with the exception of the primary interface configured, and well as redundant objects for any nat related systems that represent the new ip scheme?

Is this possible? IF so are there any other things that I may need to do other than the ones stated above?
TIA

Dave Maas
