Sorry, all my fault... the qfe card didnt sit properly in the slot... when I tightened up the screw on the backplane, it pulled one end down and the other end up and out of the slot. I removed the screw, pushed it back in again and its all working fine... Memo to Self: Must look at the REALLY obvious solutions first....
