-----Original Message----- From: Fini Marco [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, November 02, 2001 8:59 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [FW-1] Log files Hi to all, does anyone the difference between this logs files ? xx.logptr (log pointer file --- kinda like an index for faster searching) xx.log (the log file) xxxxx.alogptr (log pointer file for any rule that uses account logging) xxxxx.alog (the account log file) You make the call of what you want to keep if you delete the .logptr file it will take longer to search the file as .logptr file will have to be recreated if you want to reference the orginal log file. If I do a save of my log from the Check Point Log Viewer in my $FWDIR\Log I found the xxxx.log and xxxx.logptr, instead when I do a fw logswitch in my $FWDIR\Log I found the xxxx.log, xxxx.logptr, xxxx.alogptr, xxxx.alog. Why ? Which files can I delete to keep my log history ? thank's Marco Fini **************************************************************************** ********************** The contents of this email and any attachments are confidential.
