Hi,

I'm facing a situation, where i have 3 routers ( Cisco high-end
routers)connecting to various branch offices, each running HSRP and OSPF
protocol. The three routers are terminating on a switch. Now, I would
like to introduce a Checkpoint firewall between the routers and the
switch to avoid the branch offices connecting directly to the switch.

The switch also has a RSM and is using OSPF protocol and has different
areas allocated for different VLANS.

Now, My problem is that the OSPF cloud is stretching from all over the
router to the switch.

1.Can I introduce a firewall, in the first place, between the router and
the switch?
2. Does OSPF come in the way of the firewall? Can the firewall
understand OSPF?
3. Will the firewall be able to carry out its function correctly?i.e.,
streamlining the connections from the routers to the switch.

Looking forward for a solution....

Thanks & Regards,
Pradeepa
