Hi there: Sun Microsystems has an official Sun Blueprint for setting up NTP (see http://www.sun.com/security/blueprints/). Although these documents discuss the Solaris OS, they can be very helpful for determining the best practise for implementing a service such as NTP on whatever platform you choose.
