Get your hands on the Release Notes of the NG version,
the answers are yes NG is
supported on Solaris 8 in both 32 and 64 bits mode, and as far as I
remember NG will
also
take advantages of dual processors, with 4.1 this was only the case when
using
the
Security Servers (and VPNs ??)

I am looking into purchasing 2 new
Solaris boxes to run Firewall 1 NG.
Does checkpoint support/take
advantage of dual processors?
Is Solaris 8 supported in either
32 or 64 bit modes? Or is it
safer to stay at Sol.7
