Message is basically telling you that your user database is corrupt. You need to do a database export (export this to a file), delete the fwauth.NDB in the conf and database directory, stop start the mgmt station and then re-import the userdatabase. Be wary because user groups don't get exported so you have to create them manually before you do the re-import. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Don Leeper Sent: Monday, October 01, 2001 5:24 PM To: 'Fw-1-Mailinglist (E-mail) Subject: [FW1] Error on startup I am getting some errors in my event log but everything seems to be workin fine. I am running W2K and I have changed the name of the interfaces during the install of the OS to (for example) External The errors that come up is this magic number thing..? Like I said things seem to be working but this bothers me a bit. In NT it has an interface name of "E100B3" (for example) and the W2K interfaces are named "Local Area connection" I have changed this to "external". Can anyone help me on this issue on how to clear this up? Below is a what happen when I install a policy. Works but says this. (the External.if does have the correct interface name in it. (external)). Thanks in advance... this error is in the application error log....above... ndb_open: database 'magic number' corrupted(d:\WINNT\FW1\4.1\database\fwauth.NDB) Installing Security Policy Standard on all.all@itdriver Using external interface 'E100B3' Warning: External Interface was not set by this Loading.
