[FW1] checkpoint vpn and linux

Hi to all gurus...
I am using Checkpoint firewall-1 & vpn on Win NT box.
What I am triying to do is combining to two networks one peer is winnt with
checkpoint and other peer is linux mandrake 8.0.
Both networks are  connected to internet.
I install "vpnd" ( vpn daemon)  to linux box.
But I do not have any experience on vpns although I have lots of theoretical
knowledge.
I am using cisco 1601 on both sites with normal IOS.
DO I make any changes on cisco routers ?.
Is there any other vpn tool for linux?
On linux side , what shoul I do?
On checkpoint side , what should I do ?
And is is possible that both side see  themself in network neighbourhood..?
