RE: [FW1] Checkpoint really slow?

Title: Checkpoint really slow?
hi,
use a sniffer program and measure the Application Response times with sniffing problemmed and problemless segments. In captured file, you'll see where the packets are waiting.
you may use Microsoft Netvor Monitor or free ones like www.ethereal.com ...

wish you luck.

Subject: [FW1] Checkpoint really slow?

Hi everyone. I have an NT 4 w/ latest service packs with Checkpoint firewall v3 and while browsing the web on the firewall itself, everything is fine. But if I browse the web from behind the firewall, it's super slow. I though that perhaps it was the DNS, so I tried enabling it in fastmode, disabling DNS and enabling it. Each configuration did not speedup browsing. I think it’s a problem w/ the DNS because its really slow initially, like on loading the page, but thereafter it speeds up. Then when I go to another website, the same problem. (However, NSLOOKUP seems to work just as fast behind the firewall as on the firewall.)

I also removed unnecessary rules from the firewall and changed network configurations on the client machines, but to no avail. Nothing seems to work. Could anyone please suggest some possible solutions? I'm near wit's end on this. Thank you so much!
