[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] RE: [FW1] Redirection!!!
I believe this is BEST handled by a SWITCH. I have not performed the process, but have stood and looked over the shoulder of our WAN people - using 2 different switch types: Extreme & Foundry SeverIron, 2 of each. Flow Redirection can cause problems (we have had them), and it can seemingly point to the FW as the 'actual' problem/failure point on the wire, when in fact, it is not. But, when it works, it is nice. Not problematic in the sense there are continual problems, but from watching our WAN folk trouble shoot them, they have less and less hair whenever there are problems. As a mater of fact, we had this configuration performed this evening for a new toy for security - filtering device. Works great, but a 10min task or thought to be turned into 3hrs. Rely heavily on your Reseller and their Top Ace, who has access to the vendor's reseller Tech Support. I would like to know if there is a way to implement Redirection using Checkpoint's Firewall. Actually, when source hits the destination server to a specific port, I want the packetsto be redirected to another destination server of the same LAN as the first one. Thanks in advance, Kostas Bilalis ============================================================================ ==== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ============================================================================ ==== ================================================================================ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================================================
