I have firewall 4.1 installed on Windows NT
4.0 and it's working fine (only tested). Next as I have to apply
the service pack I the following info.
1. How to verify what service pack gets installed
in the default installation ?
Depending on the cd you are using you install 4.1 plain or 4.1 + SP1 or
4.1 + SP2, normally it is written
on
the CD which version you get, note that CP2000 = 4.1 + SP1
2. From where I have to download these service
packs ? (links)
as I tried doing this
thru...but it did not work and got the error message saying
selection error.
URL: http://www.checkpoint.com/cgi-bin/download.cgi
* I have support ID and password to access these
pages.
Follow the download link, but for 3Des version downloads you need a
'special' account, at least for me
here
in Belgium
3. What is the difference between Hotfix, Service
packs and RDP patch.
CheckPoint releases almost every quarter a new Service Pak, for the
moment they are at 4.1-SP4 for
almost all platforms, since then two 'features' were found, for which
they developed some hotfixes,
including the RDP hotfix, the 2d one being the format string hotfix,
both can/should be installed on
top
of the SP4.
If you have some links which give more info on
procedure for doing this that will be of great help to me. I could not find
this in the Check point documentation CD.
checkpoint (as you seem to have an ID, you should be able to search
their Database)
Thanks in
advance.
