Hi, All I know is there is a box at the end of the license procedure that asks if you want to Register your Software Subscription. You may have paid for it but has it been registerded on the site. Once this is done - your username and password is emailed to you. This is where I got the information about the user name and password for access to the Software updates from. I suppose if your reseller put in their own details during the registration process perhaps that email went to them. I can only assume that in the case mentioned - only the licensing part was done and not the 2nd part of Registering Software Subscription. Either way this can be done post installation. Also the subscription lasts only one year and needs further payments to continue the subscription. If they need to manually request Software subscription.... https://license.checkpoint.com/maintenance/registration/ If they need access to the software updates - based on previous registration ( where you didnt get your password access)... http://www.checkpoint.com/techsupport/access_request.html Alee -----Original Message----- From: Rob Plaenk [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 16 July 2001 3:08 To: 'Alee Stevenson'; Lynn Maust; 'Mike Glassman - Admin'; 'Pellowski, Tom' Cc: 'fw-1 listserv' Subject: RE: [FW1] What the hell do I need a PW for to dld a SP Check Point does NOT send that username and password as stated in the email. I've been working with Check Point for over two years and NONE of our customers ever get it. I even called Check Point to find out why and was told that they don't. The customer needs to call or send an email and request the uname and p/w. -----Original Message----- From: Alee Stevenson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, July 16, 2001 5:08 AM To: Lynn Maust; 'Mike Glassman - Admin'; 'Pellowski, Tom' Cc: 'fw-1 listserv' Subject: RE: [FW1] What the hell do I need a PW for to dld a SP Hi, If the people who did your firewall install had done it properly then they would have registered your Software Subscription at the time of the install. If this is done with your email address (as it should) then Check Point would email you your username and password within 5 days. As shown by the following taken from the last page of the Check Point licensing procedure... ---------------------------------------------------- A Unique User ID will be emailed within three to five business days to the User e-mail address submitted during the registration process. This Unique User ID and password will be required to access and download the latest product updates, releases and error corrections from the : Check Point Download Site http://www.checkpoint.com/techsupport/downloads/downloads.html ---------------------------------------------------- Hope this helps Alee -----Original Message----- From: Lynn Maust [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 12 July 2001 8:34 To: 'Mike Glassman - Admin'; 'Pellowski, Tom' Cc: 'fw-1 listserv' Subject: RE: [FW1] What the hell do I need a PW for to dld a SP Did you register your Checkpoint software subscription service on their website? They will assign you a username and password to download after you've registered. -----Original Message----- From: Mike Glassman - Admin [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, July 12, 2001 11:40 AM To: 'Pellowski, Tom' Cc: 'fw-1 listserv' Subject: RE: [FW1] What the hell do I need a PW for to dld a SP Which I did. But only the reseller can dld the stuff because CP doesn't give end users (even if you'v paid for the upgrades on the yearly basis) a username and password the the download area. So I still don't see what it's worth.
