If you're talking about Windows NT then there is a registry hack. enter the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CheckPoint\FW1\4.1 path and add a new string value form the edit-->new menu. name it FWLOGDIR. add the directory name that you wsih to log to, and create the directory. then bounce the firewall (fwstop/fwstart). this is from resolution 2723 of the Nokia support site. I'm sure there must be a unix equivalent, but i've no idea what it is. rich -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Frank Tirado Sent: 10 July 2001 13:53 To: [email protected] Subject: [FW1] writing the FW log to a different partition Sorry to bother you all with this...... I've been tasked with researching for a way to get the firewall logs to write to a different partition. For example, if the firewall software resides on the D: drive, then the log files would be created on the E: or F: drives. (Personally, my solution would be to increase the size of the partition where the FW1 software resides, then archive the oldest logs as required.) I've already looked in Phoneboy and the FW1 archives but there is no reference to this.
