RE: [FW1] Which OS platform to use????

Andy,

I think you might be able to get various performance measurements for what
they are
worth, however SW companies, I believe even bound by law, will not to state
preference
between two supported platforms. That said they could have features that are
only supported
on some for architecture and implementation reasons.

The decision rests into your own research, and your management team's
assessment.
Things you might want to consider are SLA, Support Model/Structure, on-site
expertise,
cost analysis etc.

I'd rather not impose my preference, but let me know how things go.

Cheers.
George

Subject: [FW1] Which OS platform to use????

Hi,

Can anyone provide me with detailed case studies on which platform to use
when building a Checkpoint 4.1 solution?

At the momnet the office is going an appraisal on what OS to use. I relize
that a unix platform is the obvious choice, but, I can't seem to find
documentation stating the fact. Also any documentation on CPFW and WIN2K
would be great.

Cheers

Andy
