It will be either the sqlnet version 1 or 2 depending on the version of Oracle. sqlnet 2 creates a back connection and needs special handling by the kernel. It may be DB-specific but I allow TCP/1521 through to Oracle. I have no idea if this is a standard DB config though. Why don't you try connecting and see what is being denied in your log?
