RE: [FW1] Problems after converting from FWZ to IKE

I apologize and you are correct. We are using Securemote SP2 and SP3 on
remote, dial up clients.
The only reason we think it could be encryption is because we are on the
same version of Checkpoint, same service Pack as the old firewall, just IKE
instead of FWZ...we continue to have these weird problems. I will say it is
mostly with machines that are running Securemote SP2...we have not been able
to duplicate it in our test lab.

Can we assume your clients are using SecuRemote? maybe SecureClient?
Are the clients internal or external to the firewall?
If they are internal, why do you think it is related to encryption?
Draw a simple network diagram, your situation is impossible to troubleshoot
without much more information.

We switched yesterday from an NT box with FWZ encryption to a Nokia 440 with
IKE encryption using a VPN accelerator card. There are two major problems
that we are seeing sporadically:

Some Outlook clients can receive, but cannot send mail. It appears to be
working and they do not get errors but the messages never leave the box.
The cannot even reply to a message we send.

Some clients are experiencing machine shutdowns when the open their mail or
hit reply. These are all various versions of Windows.

Lastly, we are using a web based equipment ordering system (Peoplesoft) and
users are able to do everything but submit their order or approve an
existing order. The site just hangs forever.

Any ideas on things to check, ESPECIALLY the e-mail issue are appreciated!

Tim Anderson
