RE: [FW1] Getting nslookups to work with SecureRemote

Hi Rich,

I have seen the exact same thing. Everything is working fine,
thus using the split dns set-up, but nslookup never uses it.

Met vriendelijke groeten - Bien à vous - Kind regards

Subject: [FW1] Getting nslookups to work with SecureRemote

Hi,

If this has been asked already, then please point me to the archives for
this list and I'll look into it.

Otherwise, here goes: I got a user running SecureClient vers 4.1, SP2,
3DES encrypt, build 4165.
He is coming from his NT vers. 4 SP5 workstation, across the internet over
to our CheckPoint Firewall running on a Nokia IP440.

He is able to authenticate onto the firewall as well as our samba
controlled domain. He is able to run X-Windows, check email, telnet and
all else over to our network. However, even though he points his DNS over
to the server on our internal LAN, he cannot do nslookups. He can ping the
server and telnet to it just fine. However, I do not even see an attempt
being made in our FWLogs that his client is attempting an nslookup. It is
almost like the nslookup binary doesn't know to use the route to our
internal LAN. It is loke it is not using the VPN connection at all. Like
I said, he can telnet and ping and use X win to our Internal LAN, just not
nslookup.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rich
