Our company is a Checkpoint/NOKIA reseller and support organization. We've spoken to NOKIA and Checkpoint (matter of fact I was just recently in a meeting with their developers and a couple of our senior engineers) and they told us that IPSO 3.4 would not be available until mid July due to "issues" that had arisen. The other thing I'd have to say is that we've found, in the course of two weeks of testing, several bugs in 3.4 to include the NOKIA crashing when you try to downgrade to 3.3. There have been several others but we're still trying to verify that this was a problem with the actual build and not a layer 1 problem. Now that Checkpoint's SP4 is out, you should see IPSO 3.4 back up soon..At least that what someone at Nokia told me -----Original Message----- From: Juan Concepcion [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, June 14, 2001 10:41 PM To: Mansfield, Chad; 'Agung Samadi'; Richard Chase; [email protected] Subject: RE: [FW1] IPSO 3.4 and Fw-1 4.1 SP4 Don't quote me on this but I was told that it was pulled because they had "some problems" with it. I suppose only Upper Management and the Software Engineering team know why... Chad T. Mansfield Security Engineer The Hull Group LLC, A Goldman Sachs Company 311 S. Anybody know "the story behind" why Nokia pull back the IPSO 3.4 ? The > upgrade took less than 30 minutes. The release notes had one error. When upgrading the bootmgr the notes specify to "set defaults", the actual command is "set-defaults". Otherwise the upgrade was problem free. I no longer have the problem of too many internal hosts being listed (this had slow the performance on the Nokia). I see no degradetion of performance. > > Regards, > > Richard Chase > > > ============================================================================ ==== > To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at > http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html > ============================================================================ ==== > ============================================================================ ==== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ============================================================================ ==== ============================================================================ ==== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ============================================================================ ==== ============================================================================ ==== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ============================================================================ ==== ================================================================================ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================================================
