has enough information on the item. She probably needs to know how to enable
or disable it through NT or Unix.

Blocking ICMP prevents ping sweeps of your network.  Ping sweeps are used in
the first phase of hacking to get a "footprint" of your network.  A good
source for this informatoin is Hacking Exposed (Osborne/McGraw Hill, ISBN
0-07-212127-0).
